Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course
Course Overview
This virtual Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course is designed for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors and wants to teach others about Leave No Trace. Over three live Google Meet sessions (and asynchronous learning), participants will deepen their understanding of the Seven Leave No Trace Principles, develop facilitation skills, and earn a nationally recognized certification.

Introduction to Leave No Trace, course overview, and Principles 1–3. Student teaching sessions with peer and instructor feedback. Google Meet sessions run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm MT.
Principles 4–7 in depth. Facilitation techniques and audience adaptation. Student teaching sessions continue. Google Meet sessions run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm MT.
Teaching practice completion, course debrief, certification requirements, and next steps as a Leave No Trace instructor. Google Meet sessions run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm MT.

Technology Requirements
- Laptop, desktop, tablet, or pad with a reliable internet connection
- Built-in or external camera and microphone for Google Meet participation
- Smartphone or digital camera to record a short teaching video
- Google Meet (free, no download required — works in any modern browser)
Cancellation Policy
Cancel 30+ days before the course for a full refund or a one-time transfer to a future course. Cancel 15–29 days before for full credit toward a future course (valid for one year). Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the course is canceled due to low enrollment, all fees are refunded.
